Planting the Seeds for Stronger Communities
The Peoplebiz Foundation supports initiatives that open doors to work, dignity, and opportunity across Canada.
Giving That Builds Opportunity
The Peoplebiz Foundation funds programs that create real opportunities for people and communities. We support initiatives that help at-risk youth and women find their footing in the workforce, prepare Indigenous and rural communities with the training and skills they need, and build healthier, more inclusive workplaces where people are treated with dignity and respect.
Led by Peoplebiz Founder & CEO Kristi Searle, the Foundation reflects our belief that good work has the power to strengthen both businesses and communities.
“My life’s work has been about helping people and organizations grow together. The Foundation is about taking that further, giving back in ways that strengthen our communities for the future.”
Kristi Searle, CEO, Peoplebiz
Our Areas of Focus
Workforce Access for Youth & Women
We support initiatives that help at-risk youth and women build the skills and confidence they need to enter or re-enter the workforce. From training to mentorship, these programs create practical pathways to employment and independence.
Indigenous and Rural Workforce Readiness
The Foundation backs programs that prepare Indigenous and rural community members for meaningful work. By supporting hands-on training and skills development, we help create opportunities that strengthen both individuals and their communities.
Healthy, Inclusive Workplaces
We invest in projects that promote mental health, dignity, and inclusion at work. Because when workplaces are safe and respectful, people are able to contribute fully and employers see stronger results.
The David Searle Memorial Scholarship
Each year, the Peoplebiz Foundation awards a $1,500 scholarship to Indigenous students beginning or continuing studies toward a career in Human Resources. The support helps with everyday costs like housing, food, textbooks, childcare, technology, or travel, so students can focus on school.
This award honours David Searle, Member of the Order of Canada, the first elected Speaker of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly, and a respected lawyer and educator who dedicated his career to Northern communities. His commitment to fair systems and public service inspires our work and our focus on building strong, inclusive workplaces across Canada.
